I love my two dogs, Taz and Bogey, and therefore it only makes sense to me to spoil them as much as I can.
Starting my own online pet gear shop was a logical step for me. I enjoy always being able to explore and test new products with my two pooches. There are so many fun things to discover that I want to share with all the pet lovers out there.
In my opinion pet gear should do two things: make your dog happy and be beneficial for his or her health and development.
Today I want to share with you my current favorite three dog gifts:
1. Interactive Pet Camera
This is the latest and hottest trend right now and personally I think they are awesome. There are different type of cameras, of course.
If you worry about what your little furry friend is getting into while you are not at home, you may want to consider a camera that let’s you watch him. There are several excellent options on the market right now that work with WiFi and let you watch your pet on your smartphone. They even have a two-way talk systems so you can talk talk to your pet and it can hear you and respond to you. I just love that.
Aside from being fun, I think these cameras are fun for your pet and give you the peace of mind you deserve while being away from home.
Kong® toys have been a top seller in pet stores since they have hit the market and for good reason. They are made of exceptional great quality, which means they can take a beating and you don’t have to replace them every other week. Those suckers are truly made to last.
A Kong® toy is a great way to treat your dog (or cat) to something tasty, making them happy and allowing them to exercise their innate need to chew and explore things with their mouth.
There are several reasons why your dog may need or enjoy to chew. If you ever had dogs with separation anxiety, you may have noticed that they like to chew things up. Kong® is a great way to allow them to calm and self-soothe by chewing on something they are allowed to chew.
Have you tried the Kong® and your dog turned up his nose on it? Stuff it with something he likes. Anything goes from peanut butter to dry food. This ensures that your dog will want to chew on it.
While chewing is a great way to calm separation anxiety it can also help to reduce plaque and let’s your dog feel like the scavenger he was meant to be.
3. Dog Pools
With the dog days of summer just weeks away, a dog pool makes the ultimate fun gift for your dog. Pretty much all dogs love splashing around, especially if you live in one of the hotter states. A dog pool is a great way for your dog(s) to cool down, when it is hot outside.
If you have a dog who suffers from arthritis or another painful condition, relaxing in the water may ease the pain.
Dog pools come in all shapes and sizes. From the inexpensive kiddy pools you can buy at any grocery store to heavy duty bone shaped ones, the sky is the limit.
But most importantly just love your dogs and have fun with them!
Wayne Brown is the proud owner of miniature schnauzers Taz and Bogey. They are 8 and 6 years old and are as spoiled as any dog should be. Because of his love for dogs (and other animals) Wayne decided to start Gear for Pets, an online store for pet accessories. His goal has been to provide fun and safe gear for dogs and cats everywhere.
