Are You a Dog Parent? What's Inside Your Pocket?
The other day, I planned on washing my coat, and of course, the first thing you do when you wash your coat is to empty the pockets.
The things I found in there made me laugh, and I thought it would be a fun idea for an article.
My pockets have officially gone to the dogs.
Here's what I found in my pockets:
- Poop bags
- More poop bags
- Dog training treats
- LED lights for their collars at night
- Lip Balm (For those super cold days)
- Rock collection (This one actually belongs to my youngest daughter)
- FUR
- Clicker, which I haven't used in ages
This got me thinking... when we leave the house with our dogs, what are some essentials we should always bring with us? I think the answer to that would depend on how long you were going out for.
Out for a walk in the summer?
Here's what I have on my list:
- Poop bags
- Water
- Portable water dispenser
- Treats
Our for a weekend trip ( or longer)?
Here's what I have on my list:
- Poop bags
- Portable water dispenser
- Water... if you aren't able to get any while your out traveling.
- First aid kit. You never know what could happen while you're out for a duration of time with your dog, and its best to be prepared.
- Emergency number for a vet clinic
- Bed/blanket for your dog
- Food
- Treats
Whether you are out for a walk, the weekend or a full on trip, it is so important to be prepared for your dog's sake. And let me tell you... there is nothing worse than going for a walk and realizing you forgot poop bags!! Fill your pockets, be a dog parent!
I would love to hear from you!
What sort of things do you have in your dog parent pockets?
