All of these protect the back seat — the difference is your seat layout and how much of the space you want covered:

Rear bench cover

Covers a standard full back seat. Choose with a hammock to wall off the footwells and protect the front seatbacks, or no hammock for a simple, low-profile fit.

Split / fold-down cover

Built for 60/40 split seats — it releases so you can still fold a section down for cargo. Also available with or without a hammock.

Hard-bottom seat extender

Fills the gap between the front and back seats, turning the rear into one flat, raised platform — ideal for dogs that like to stretch out or lie down.

Hammock vs. no hammock

Pick a hammock for smaller dogs, extra footwell protection, and keeping dogs off the front seats. Skip it if you need footwell space for passengers.

What to look for in a dog seat cover

Are 4Knines dog seat covers waterproof?

Yes — they use a waterproof backing that keeps water, mud, and accidents from reaching your seats, while the top fabric stays comfortable for your dog.

Do I need a full-bench cover or a split (fold-down) cover?

If your back seat folds down as a single piece, use a rear bench cover. If you have 60/40 split seats and want to still fold one side down for cargo, choose the split / fold-down cover.

Can I still use the seat belts?

Yes. The covers include seat-belt openings so passengers can buckle in, and they work with a dog seat belt for securing your dog.

Hammock or no hammock — which should I get?

Choose a hammock if your dog is smaller, tends to slide forward, or you want to protect the back of the front seats. Skip the hammock if you need the footwell space for passengers or easier in-and-out.

What does the seat extender do?

The hard-bottom extender fills the footwell gap to create a flat, raised platform across the back seat — giving your dog a larger, more comfortable surface to lie on.

How do I clean it?

Shake it out or wipe it down for daily messes; the fabric is machine washable for a deeper clean. Air dry and reinstall in minutes.
