How to Choose the Right Kennel For Your Dog...

Have you ever had to go away on a trip but couldn't bring your pets?

Kennel Choosing Tips for a Better Place to Leave Your Pet Dogs I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't travel a lot, but when I do I prefer bringing my dogs with me, however sometimes that just isn't an option. So in that case, what do you do? The first thing I try and arrange, is to have family come to my house and watch my dogs while I am away. But. once again, that is not always an option. So when you're out of options and you just aren't sure who to leave them with or where, what do you do?

Lets Talk About Dog Kennels

Dog kennels seem to have a bad rep with a lot of people. But they aren't all bad. Sure, I won't deny that there are some kennels out there which happen to be way under par, but does that mean we should avoid any kennel, anywhere, any time? No, not in my humble opinion. There truly are some good kennels out there, but how do you go about choosing the right kennel for your dog? Let's woof about that for a minute. To me, leaving my huskies is like leaving my children for the first time, it is hard! They are my kids... with a little more fur than the human ones of course. When I was out of options and needed to turn to a kennel, I began searching the web for local kennels. There were a few that I found, but one in particular stood out to me. It just gave off a warm, happy, caring vibe. I decided to phone them. The lady I spoke with began by saying how much she loved huskies. At first I thought she was just saying that, and she probably says that about every breed, but she went on to say certain things about their behavior. She knew all about the breed. She knows they wouldn't do well in her small outdoor area because the fence would be too low, and huskies can jump them easily. Just little things like that already made me feel more comfortable. She had asked if they had any special needs she would be tending to, told me to feel free to send something of mine that has my scent on it, and she was just super friendly. I was invited out to meet her and see the place after she learned that I was a concerned paw-rent. So out I went! The place was nice and clean, there were several other dogs staying there. There was no poop in the yards. (meaning she cleans it well.) I saw how she interacted with the other dogs there. They loved her! She gives them treats, and they were all happy to see her when they saw her face. Also, she lives right there on site. I was convinced. I decided this was the right place for my fur babies. When I dropped them off, she made sure to ask if they had allergies or anything she should know, as well as making sure I had my vet papers, etc... She let me know it was ok to give her a call to check on them while I was away. Long story not so short, when we picked them up, the second they heard my voice, they started to howl, she let them out, and the joy and smiles on their faces was just beautiful!! I was thrilled to see that after they greeted me, my dogs went over to the lady and they were wagging their tails and asking for her attention, so I knew they liked her too!

What did I take out of this?

  • Go with your gut! If it doesn't feel right, it's not right.
  • Talk to the owners of the kennel, are they friendly? Do they seem like legit dog lovers?
  • Visit the facility. Is it clean? Are you welcome to visit the facility?
  • How do the other dogs react around the owners?
  • Do they ask if your dog has allergies or other things they?
  • Do they require vet papers?
All of these things are huge, for me at least. A kennel that requires vet papers, want to make sure the dogs coming in are healthy, and vaccinated. Make sure to check that the kennel is clean. Checking to see how the dogs who are already at the kennel act when the owner goes near them is huge as well. If they are happy to see them... good sign... if they seem scared or just not thrilled to see them... bad sign. Bottom line, a gut feeling tells you more than you think. Trust yourself. If you don't feel comfortable, that means you should keep checking for a better kennel. How about you? Have you left your dogs in a kennel, if so, how did you know it was the right kennel for you? Great Protection

I think this seat cover is going to work out just fine. It fits well, was extremely easy to install. Just waiting for my new puppy to be old enough to bring home.

Seat cover just received

It would be nice to be able to actually get some use out of it before I can honestly review the product. I will say that so far my experience with 4Knines has been wonderful. Their customer service is great.

If you have dogs, and love your car, this is a must buy!

I recently purchased the Cargo Cover to protect my new Subaru Outback. My dogs love car rides, but they're also shedding dogs and make a mess. The Cargo Cover took a brief 30 seconds to install and provides protection against dirt, scratches, hair, dander. It's super easy to clean-up too!

Great Product!

XL cargo liner fit my GMC Yukon Denali perfectly. While our 20 lb dog doesn't put much stress on the liner, it works great keeping the back clean from carrying our often muddy recumbent bicycles around. Top notch product, fast delivery. Thanks!

Great products. We are return customers.

Bought the bench cover and side panels for our Nissan Pathfinder. Looks great. We have the same set up in our Titan truck and couldn't be happier with the protection it gives to our leather interior. Highly recommend. Shipping was super fast!!!

Super nice

I purchased seat covers for my Ford F-350 and my Ford Edge - really nice fit and I have piece of mind knowing my seats are protected!

Well Done!

Bought the seat cover for a rental SUV we were using on a road trip. It worked great. Kept off all the dog hair and our fur baby rolled around on it like crazy. Am going to move it to our everyday SUV. Nicely done!
