November Charity Spotlight on Hand in Paw

By madwire. | Giving Back

Animal-Assisted Therapy has been proven to reduce anxiety, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and improve heart and lung function. In addition to physiological benefits, contact with animals also instills a sense of purpose and fulfillment that can help prevent depression and loneliness.

November Charity Spotlight on Hand in PawHand in Paw is a non-profit 501(c)(3) in Central Alabama with a mission to improve human health and well-being through Animal-Assisted Therapy. Founded in 1996 by Beth Franklin, Hand in Paw’s professionally trained therapy teams make 800,000 beneficial contacts each year through community events and participating facilities.

Hand in Paw’s highly trained volunteers and their animal partners form therapy teams who serve children and adults with physical, emotional, educational, or psychological needs. These dedicated teams address difficult issues such as abuse, disabilities, illiteracy, and chronic and terminal illness.

To increase the reach of their impact, Hand in Paw has developed a variety of innovative programs that benefit the local communities they serve.

  • Pawsitive Living™ is an innovative 12-week program that teaches compassion and anger management to at-risk children and youth. The program concludes with successful participants contributing to the community by accompanying therapy teams to facilities serving people with special needs.
  • No More Bullies! is a 6-week education program that helps children develop skills to solve problems in a loving, caring, and productive way and the courage to stand up for themselves and for those who are weaker.
  • Petscription therapy teams facilitate interactions with professional staff, patients, and families to create a more relaxed environment resulting in a reduction of sedatives needed for procedures and reducing the time required to meet therapy goals.
  • Trauma & Grief Response Program deploys therapy teams to provide emotional support and comfort to people in the aftermath of tragic events.
  • Sit, Stay, Read! utilizes specially-trained therapy teams to create a non-threatening and positive environment for reluctant readers. Animals are great listeners!
  • Wags at Work provide animal-assisted therapy visits to the workplace, offering workers much-needed comfort, motivation, and cheer. Animals in the workplace have been shown to reduce stress and boost employee satisfaction.

  • Nurturing – Promote growth and development
  • Rapport – Build relationships of mutual trust or a feeling of connection or bonding.

The best evaluations of our products come from the people who’ve bought them.

great cover

This is actually a replacement for my original 4 knines cover which was 4 years old. I used it daily (bringing my pup to work with me) and washed it weekly, so the backing finally started to flake apart and come off. This newer version is easier to put over the headrests, great improvement in the strap and closures. Also the best improvement is the side flaps, the old cover didn't have these. These flaps help to catch the dirt from dogs feet when they are jumping up into the car, instead of it going on the side of the seat.

Split Rear Dog Seat Cover - Fitted - No Hammock

I had ordered this item from an on-line site and was extremely disappointed when I received the wrong item. I was impressed with the quality of the seat cover and decided to contact 4Knines directly. I placed my order with Maggie and received the Split Rear Dog Seat Cover within three days. The seat cover fits nicely in my new Honda CR-V and as stated by 4Knines, is very easy to install and remove. My 8-month old labradoodle Brodie likes the comfort, and friends agree with him. Great quality item, reasonably priced, and outstanding customer service. Thanks 4Knines.

New truck seat cover and side panels

I really do like the seat cover and door side panels. The side panels are a must as the Beagle mix puts her feet on the doors. Every now and again someone comes up with a nice product that works well, has quality in its materials, and is well engineered. These are those. I am super satisfied.

Great fit, Great look, Stays in Place

I really like the look of this cover on my front bucket seat. You can't tell it's to protect the seat from the dog! It's very nice looking and fits great. Most importantly, it stays in place! My dog is wiggly, up and down, looking out the windows; and this seat cover doesn't mind. Do make sure you watch the video and carefully follow the installation instructions. I did not at first; and Support was Wonderful in helping me figure out what I was doing incorrectly.
