Cat People, Dog People, and Both People…

By ChelsyRanard. | Dog Info Traveling with Dogs

Some people prefer the excitement and slobber from a doggie companion. They are excited to see you, enjoy being in the outdoors, and are always down for an adventure. They love pleasing you and learning new tricks.

Cat People, Dog People, and Both People...

Dogs are loyal and lovable, so there’s no question why dog people love their cold nosed companion.

Cat people understand cats more than most. While a cat might not slobber and jump all over you when you get home, they share their affection with head nudges and earthquake purrs. Their loyalty might depend on their mood that day, or who’s feeding them, but the loyalty is there. Cats are independent and affectionate on their own terms.

Other people can’t commit to being a dog person or cat person because both animals have such great qualities. Whichever side you’re on, there are perks associated with being a dog person, a cat person, or someone who loves them both.

The Perks of Being a Dog Person

One of the many great things about owning a dog is that they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and temperaments. You can get a teeny tiny floof, or a giant teddy bear. You can find a dog to fit any situation and have them mold right into your life. Being a dog person means you get to come home to a pile of fuzzy love every day. Your dog wags its tail, smiles, slobbers, barks, and plays in a way that tells you they love you. Dogs have an amazing ability to emote their feelings, and that can be a comfort to many dog lovers. Also, dog people get to enjoy dogs at all stages — from bouncy puppies to steadfast seniors and everything in between. Dogs are loyal, loving, and committed to being whatever you need them to be. Dogs might actually love you more than you love them, as hard as that is to imagine.

Being a dog person also means you get the perks associated with owning a dog. Dog people tend to exercise more, stay healthier, and feel less stressed. Dogs have such an amazing effect on a person’s mental state that they are used in a whole slew of medical situations. For instance, military veterans can sometimes battle with many issues, and up to 22 veterans commit suicide every day. So, service dogs have been used in helping those battling PTSD and other mental health problems after their service. Dogs are also used to reduce stress for college students during finals week, make kids in pediatric hospitals smile, and comfort people feeling anxiety or depression. Dogs are basically magic, and dog people get to experience their magic every day.

The Perks of Being a Cat Person

Cats may not come in a variety as wide as dogs, but cats all have their own breeds, looks, and personalities. Cats can have the slim look of a siamese, the painted pattern of a calico, or the loving personality of a Sphynx. Your dog may need a big yard with a lot of space, but your cat is happy in an apartment. Cats love seeing their people just as much as dogs do, but show it differently. Cats love doing dolphin jumps to get petted, rubbing against their people’s legs, rolling on the floor for attention, and meowing to communicate. Cats show love in different ways than a dog does, but they definitely show love to their people.

Being a cat person means you also benefit from some of the same perks associated with owning a dog. Pets, in general, tend to make people healthier and happier. In 1950, only 8 percent of the U.S. population was 65 or older. In 2050, that number is projected to be 20 percent. Cats have become great companions in elderly care both in home and in facilities. Cats are lower maintenance than dogs, but still, offer many of the same stress-reducing effects as dogs. They are also gentler on the older population, and are content laying with them while they nap or read a book. From kittens to senior cats, they offer something for everyone at any age. They are lovable, sleepy, and adorable piles of fur that adore their owners.

The Perks of Loving Both Cats and Dogs

Dogs may love playing fetch and giving kisses, and cats love napping and nuzzling. For some people, they love having both of these perks. For people who appreciate what both dogs and cats have to offer, they are both. It’s hard to make the decision between tail wags and whiskers, so they don’t make the decision and live life loving both types of animals. Being both a dog and a cat person means you get the best of both worlds.

Both dogs and cats have options for insanely cute Halloween costumes, from a puppy latte to a kitty Princess Leia. Just be sure to keep your animal safe while celebratingBoth animals love to show affection, both love playing, and both offer health benefits. Coming home to a dog or a cat is coming home to an animal that loves you in a profound way, though they show it differently. Cats may seem more indifferent to their people, but cat people will tell you how cats show their love. Dogs may demand more attention than a cat, but dog people will tell you they love giving the attention they ask for.

Whether you’re a cat or a dog person, there are perks involved. And if you’re both person, you get all the perks ever. Having an animal is an experience that involves more love and happiness than most other relationships in general. There are so many dogs and cats that need homes. For the dog and cat people adopting them and giving them homes, they are doing a great service to both canine and feline communities. Not only that, you get the gift of giving belly rubs and butt scratches to their fuzzy family members forever. Whether you are a dog person, a cat person, or love both equally, you get the unconditional love of a pet that can’t be duplicated. The only people who are missing out are the people who aren’t pet people.

great cover

This is actually a replacement for my original 4 knines cover which was 4 years old. I used it daily (bringing my pup to work with me) and washed it weekly, so the backing finally started to flake apart and come off. This newer version is easier to put over the headrests, great improvement in the strap and closures. Also the best improvement is the side flaps, the old cover didn't have these. These flaps help to catch the dirt from dogs feet when they are jumping up into the car, instead of it going on the side of the seat.

Split Rear Dog Seat Cover - Fitted - No Hammock

I had ordered this item from an on-line site and was extremely disappointed when I received the wrong item. I was impressed with the quality of the seat cover and decided to contact 4Knines directly. I placed my order with Maggie and received the Split Rear Dog Seat Cover within three days. The seat cover fits nicely in my new Honda CR-V and as stated by 4Knines, is very easy to install and remove. My 8-month old labradoodle Brodie likes the comfort, and friends agree with him. Great quality item, reasonably priced, and outstanding customer service. Thanks 4Knines.

New truck seat cover and side panels

I really do like the seat cover and door side panels. The side panels are a must as the Beagle mix puts her feet on the doors. Every now and again someone comes up with a nice product that works well, has quality in its materials, and is well engineered. These are those. I am super satisfied.

Great fit, Great look, Stays in Place

I really like the look of this cover on my front bucket seat. You can't tell it's to protect the seat from the dog! It's very nice looking and fits great. Most importantly, it stays in place! My dog is wiggly, up and down, looking out the windows; and this seat cover doesn't mind. Do make sure you watch the video and carefully follow the installation instructions. I did not at first; and Support was Wonderful in helping me figure out what I was doing incorrectly.
