Activities to keep your dog busy

During the winter, it can be hard to find motivation to get outdoors. However, if your pup is used to regular outdoor activities, the winter season can be a boring and restless time for them. While nothing can compare to getting outdoors with your dog, there are several fun indoor activities that can help mentally stimulate your pup while also providing them with some much needed physical activity.

One great indoor activity that is sure to mentally challenge your dog is to play hide and seek with them. Take a treat and go hide somewhere in your home. Then call your dog and wait for them to come find you. When they find you, be sure to reward them for a job well done with a doggy treat!

Another great indoor activity you can do with your pup is to play tug of war or fetch. These games don’t require a lot of room and they are sure to help relieve your dog of some pent up energy. Just be sure to be cautious while tossing the ball around and while playing tug of war. After all, tug of war can get pretty competitive!

You can also give your dog some major stimulation by simply taking them along for a ride while you run errands. If you are making a quick trip to the grocery store or post office, get out your dog seat cover and take them along. There are all sorts of new sights and smells to be had on these little adventures! They are sure to provide some great stimulation for your cooped up pup.

Your dog can get cabin fever just like us! If getting outdoors poses a challenge try some new fun indoor activities. The possibilities are endless!
