Happy Howlidays! Tips for celebrating Christmas with your dog.

For many of us, our pets are part of our family, and we include them in as many of our holiday traditions as possible. In fact, a recent study by PR Newswire found that 96 percent of the people they surveyed would rather spend Christmas with their dogs than with their in-laws! Whether it’s just you and your dog or your big family (including the in-laws) and your dog, here are some ideas for celebrating this magical time of year with pets.

Doggie gift exchange- Don’t forget Fido’s gift! 4Knines firmly believes in spoiling pets too, and it’s with them in mind that we designed a luxury line of comfortable and affordable products for dogs. Check out our holiday gift guide here and more gift ideas over on our Pinterest boards.

Safe Dog Treats- It’s only natural to let our dogs join in on the fun of Christmas treats, but it’s also important to remember that human candy, like chocolate is not safe for dogs. Instead a safe, homemade recipe that looks like the real thing can be a good alternative. For example, doggie candy canes or gingerbread men or pup pops.

Holiday Movie Night- The holidays are full of hustle and bustle, so before the big day, take some time to spend with your pet, especially if you’ll be leaving him/her behind while traveling. Or if you will have a house full of people that might overwhelm your pooch. A nice holiday movie will surely put everyone in good spirits. You might choose a dog-themed movie, a Christmas classic or pick a made-for-tv holiday movie! Make some dog-friendly treats and enjoy a laid-back evening!

Doggie bowtie- Family photos are a must during the holiday season, so why not snap some formal poses of your pet? Charlie Be Good’s line of dog bowties is adorable.

Dog photo booth- Take your photo session a step further by creating a silly photo booth! Photo booth portraits with DIY props are pretty popular now, and it’s a great way to include your pet in on some laid-back, fun family photos.

Lastly, commemorate Christmas with one of your favorite photographs of you and your pet, along with this adorable framed paw art tutorial.
