MWDR is an all-volunteer non-for profit foster based rescue organization that takes their Doxies very seriously. They have carefully built a reputation of high standard for the care, safety, and security of the dogs they represent.
Founded in 2003 this 501(c)3 organization is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and placing homeless and needy dachshunds and dachshund mixes in the Midwest. They continue to try and educate the public about the benefits of adopting through rescue groups.
They make sure their Doxies are healthy by continually searching for and working with veterinarians to provide low cost veterinary care. Taking care of the beautiful Doxies futures, they continue to educate people on the benefits of Spay/Neutering their pets.
MWDR has done more than they could ever imagine. From individual dogs to large numbers at once, they accomplish miracles and save lives. It is their volunteers that make a difference in lives every day.
Their foster homes are located in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin and this is their general area for adoptions as well. If you live in these areas, please reach out to MWDR for they are always in need of foster homes, transportation help, etc.
As with all nonprofits, MWDR relies on the kindness of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Each month, 4Knines selects a worthy organization to “SPOTLIGHT,” and we hope you will join us in supporting MWDR with your donation. There are many other ways to help including volunteering, transporting and fostering .
