5) Dogs Lower the Risk of Home Invasion
Any would-be thief is way more likely to break into a house with no dog. So whether you have a big, intimidating rottweiler or a cuddly little Shih-Tzu, dogs make noise. They bark at intruders and that attracts attention. Attention to a home invader is a huge obstacle. So for that reason, a lot of thief’s will take the path of least resistance… a house with no dog.
But dogs might also bite an intruder in an attempt to protect their territory. Dogs can smell fear, stress and anxiety; all emotions a thief might be feeling, increasing their chances of being attacked. So once again, a house with no dog is a much bigger target.

More-so, dog owners recover from sicknesses such as colds and flu faster. And if that’s not enough, dogs can sniff out cancer and sense seizures. They may actually be able to alert you to a potentially life-threatening sickness before your doctor can! They’ll try to communicate with you. All you have to do is listen to them and read their signs.

But basically, if infants in their first year of life have a cat or dog in their home they’re far less likely to develop allergies! They also have fewer colds, flu and ear infections resulting in less missed school days. Wow, now that’s cool!
2) Dogs Make Us Socialize and Exercise More

Dogs also make us exercise. Owning a dog means daily walks and fresh air. And that means you’re out of your house, getting fresh air, exercise and waving at the neighbors as you walk by.
Bottom line! They love us unconditionally, they’re always happy to see us and they’re unquestionably trusting and loyal! All of these things increase our mood instantly. They teach us so many important things; love, empathy, trust, respect and loyalty. All of which are, in my humble opinion, the most important life lessons of all. They reach our inner soul and touch our hearts in ways no one else can. Just looking into a dog’s eyes that you have a strong connection with is like no other experience you’ll ever have. It’s like you can feel their love emitting directly to you. So go love a dog, it’ll be a life rewarding experience!
