“We will Leave No Paws Behind as we reach across America to make a difference in the lives of those who devote their time to loving and caring for animals in need. We are the voice for those who cannot speak and we are doing for them what they cannot do for themselves. In honor of all our four legged canine and feline friends we are barking across America and helping animals everywhere one paw at a time.”
Operating as an all-breed/all-foster rescue, Leave No Paws Behind (LNPB) specializes in providing hospice care, comfort, love, and a safe haven to senior, terminal, end-of-life, and special needs animals. LNPB steps up at the 11th hour, often when all hope is lost, to do everything possible to save the lives of animals in danger of spending their final days in a Southern California high-kill shelter. Abandoned, frightened and confused, animals are given a second chance when they enter the loving care of LNPB.
Once rescued, animals are immediately evaluated by their team of veterinarians who diagnose and make recommendations for treatment. Animals with minor, treatable medical needs and animals with special needs are placed in loving foster homes until they find their “furever” homes. When diagnosed with terminal illnesses or severe mobility issues, rescues are placed in hospice or long-term foster care. From time to time, when deemed necessary by their veterinarians, they face the heartbreaking task of helping our rescues cross the rainbow bridge. “In these cases, we hold our beloved animals in loving arms as the pass peacefully and without pain.”
No animal is considered too sick or too disabled to be worthy of rescue and loving end-of-life care.
However, Toby Wisneski, founder and CEO of Leave No Paws Behind, recognizes that end-of-life care can be very expensive. Sometimes, families simply cannot afford the cost of helping their beloved pets cross the Rainbow Bridge, and thinking they have no place to turn, make the agonizing decision to surrender their pets to shelters. With this in mind, LNPB established the “Colby Rainbow Bridge Memorial Fund” with the hope that all families will have the opportunity to say a proper goodbye to their beloved pets, regardless of financial means.
Leave No Paws Behind, a California non-profit, relies solely on volunteers and donations to speak for animals who cannot speak for themselves.
