cassie-leigh stockCassie-Leigh Stock, ABCDT, CTDI, AKC-CGC, CDT, All-Star TC

My name is Cassie-Leigh Stock, Massachusetts-native and founder of HEX Dog Training & Behavior Modification, headquartered in Mendon. I also manage the boarding kennel at a Franklin animal hospital. I trained for a large corporate chain for six years, and spent two of those years as an Area Pet Training Instructor, teaching dog training classes as well as training trainers. It was a complete pleasure, and I loved my time there, although I began to feel the desire to further spread my wings. As I become more immersed in the craft and continued to further my education, eventually it was time to part ways with the big box store in order to pursue what had become my dream, and start my own dog training company. That is where HEX was born. HEX is short for Higher Expectations, and I specialize in pit bulls and group class instruction. My inspiration for my entire career, and in one form or another, my life, is my American pit bull terrier, Spark Plug. He was my first pit bull, and he came to me from a shelter in Rhode Island when he was about five weeks old. I was hooked on bully breeds after that, and that reflects in my multi-dog home. I love this occupation as much as the day I started, and this July I will celebrate my ten year anniversary of professional dog training accreditation. My credentials include: Canine Good Citizen evaluator, certified through Animal Behavior College, and Certified Trick Dog Instructor. Other interests include reading, writing, hiking, training and recently... painting.

Shelby Gottschalk HeadshotShelby Gottschalk

My name is Shelby Gottschalk and I am the momma bear! I've been obsessed with animals for as long as I can remember. I've worked in vet offices, I work doing pet sitting, so naturally animal care was something I wanted to know more about. I decided to do research about holistic medicine/treatment and ended up getting a certificate in Holistic Pet Care. This led me to be curious about pet nutrition what is in that dried kibble we are feeding our pets? The answers made me so sad after seeing so many vets that I worked with sell these brands that I knew were doing more harm than good. It made me evaluate my own dog's food and there was no going back. My dogs are my kids, and I believe nutrition can prevent disease and save lives. Join me on my journey with raw food, trying new things and all things dog.

Allison Dunne HeadshotAllison Dunne

Allison Dunne was born and raised in Miami Beach, FL. Growing up she had a love for animals which was apparent by her compassion for the cities uncared for and abandoned strays. (She feed everything that follows her home) While her parents did not discourage this they did, however, draw the line when they found a skunk sleeping in the cat's litter box. It was only fitting as an adult she became a Fireman enabling her to help people and animals on a much larger scale. During her time in the fire service, she was chosen to help in the rescue effort after the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Upon returning from her deployment, Allison wanted to learn how to train search and rescue dogs. In her quest to do so, she noticed a trend in rescue groups as well as people abandoning their pets. There was an alarming rate of how many dogs were being taken to shelters and euthanized. Allison's mission shifted drastically once she realized this tragedy. She made the decision to retire from the Fire Service in 2015 to further her quest to help people have better more loving relationships with their furry friends by starting Dunne Right Dog Training. Today Allison along with her sidekicks Ruby and Monster are sharing their knowledge and passion for keeping these loving dogs in their happy homes furever.

Nina Cole

My name is Nina Cole and I am the founder of Nina's Nannies for Pets, which I formed in 1998, following my recovery from a brain hemorrhage which occurred five months after my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

I have always been passionate about animals and their welfare and my childhood was spent caring for a menagerie of pets including rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, cats and dogs.

Following my husband's MS diagnoses and my own recovery from brain surgery, I decided to realise my dream of working with animals.

Pet sitting in the late nineties, was largely unheard of in the UK. but I wanted to offer a more personal service and offer an alternative to kennels and catteries, which allowed pets to stay within the comfort of their own home while their owners were away.

Following much research, I contacted our local newspaper, who helped with our launch, distributed copious amounts of flyers, visited numerous veterinary establishments, training centers and pet shops and within six months of trading, my husband left University where he was studying to be a microbiologist, in order that we could meet the demand of our ever- increasing workload and our partnership was formed.

I am now an established author writing for various magazines and often appear in the media regarding both my business and animals in the news.  I am also a regular contributor on BBC radio where I am called upon to comment on animal welfare issues.
